Hex to CMYK conversion guide
Convert HEX color codes to approximate CMYK percentages online for design handoff, print planning, and color documentation.
What it does
HEX colors are common in CSS, design tokens, and digital brand systems. CMYK values are used in print planning and design handoff. This converter turns a screen color into practical cyan, magenta, yellow, and black percentages so the value can be discussed outside a browser or design file.
When to use it
The conversion starts from the RGB channels represented by the HEX code. It then estimates CMYK percentages using a standard formula. That makes the result useful for notes, briefs, mockups, and early vendor conversations when you need a fast bridge between web color and print language.
How it works
HEX and CMYK do not describe the same physical output. Screens emit light, while print uses ink on paper. Paper stock, printer profile, ink behavior, and proofing conditions can all change the final appearance. Treat the output as a planning value, not a press-certified match.
Practical note
Use this page when a CSS color needs a print-friendly reference, a brand palette needs quick documentation, or a designer wants a first CMYK approximation without opening a full graphics application.
